Material introduction: The scientific name of PA12 is poly laurolactam, also known as nylon 12.
The basic raw material for its polymerization is butadiene, which can rely on petrochemicals and is a crystalline thermoplastic material.
Properties and main applications of transparent nylon: 1. Electrical and electronic fields Because of its good insulation, high heat distortion temperature, self-extinguishing flame retardancy, creep resistance, high durability, and high transparency, it is suitable for electrical and electronic fields, such as: high-voltage switch housings, relay housings, battery seals, terminal blocks and other products;
2. Automotive field Transparent nylon has good weather resistance and anti-ultraviolet light, so that the product can be kept bright and clean. It can form decorative and protective layers on the surfaces of automotive interiors, instrument panels, consoles and other components through injection molding and surface lamination.
3. Mechanical field Due to its high transparency, it can be used in the field of machinery to prepare injection-molded parts such as: fuel and compressed air filters, flow meters, level indicators, valve parts, metering equipment and guide rails.
4. Daily necessities Because of its excellent transparency, light weight, non-breakability, scratch resistance, chemical resistance and stress crack resistance, it can be used to make frames and lenses; transparent, it can be used to make daily necessities shells or transparent covers, such as juicer measuring cups, shell etc. Its properties are similar to PA11, but the crystal structure is different. PA12 is a good electrical insulator and, like other polyamides, does not affect insulating properties due to moisture. It has good impact resistance and chemical stability. There are many improved varieties of PA12 in terms of plasticizing and reinforcing properties. Compared with PA6 and PA66, these materials have lower melting point and density, and have very high moisture regain. PA12 has no resistance to strong oxidizing acids. The viscosity of PA12 mainly depends on humidity, temperature and storage time. It's very fluid.
Injection molding process conditions: Drying treatment: The humidity should be kept below 0.1% before processing. If the material is stored exposed to air, it is recommended to dry in hot air at 85C for 4~5 hours. If the material is stored in an airtight container, it can be used immediately after 3 hours of temperature equilibration. Melting temperature: 240~300ºC; Do not exceed 310ºC for ordinary characteristic materials, and do not exceed 270ºC for materials with flame retardant properties. High injection speed can make good molding.
